Your League, Your Rules

The Basics

Q: What is Fantasy Baseball?
A: Fantasy Baseball gives you the opportunity to run your own team of professional baseball players. You draft your team of the best players from across MLB and receive points based on those players' performance in MLB games each week of the baseball season. You set lineups, propose, accept and reject trades, sign free agents, and compete against other teams in your league. If you have a group of friends you can form your own league using Baseball Commissioner. You can also join one of our existing Fantasy Baseball 2009 baseball leagues. To learn more about Fantasy Baseball, check out Fantasy Baseball University.

Q: What is the difference between Baseball Commissioner and your Fantasy Baseball 2009 games?
A: If you want to create and run a fantasy baseball league for a group of your friends, Baseball Commissioner lets you set up and run the league anyway you want to. Acting as the League Commissioner you can customize the scoring system, the rules, and the schedule based on your wants and needs. In Fantasy Baseball 2009, you can own a team in an already existing league and compete against other users. For those leagues, we act as commissioner and set all the rules for you. You simply manage your team and try to beat the rest of the league.

Q: What Are the New Features in This Year's Version of Baseball Commissioner?
A: This year we've added our very own version of an Auction Draft Room for leagues ready to take it to the next level. We've added the ability to embed video in your league news stories. We have enhanced the League History features to include awards and provide snapshots of previous years. We've added a way for our users to enter in their own player analysis and have it presented on the site. You can find out much more about these new features by clicking here.

Set Up

Q: Is it difficult to set up and run my league on-line?
A: Not at all. With our Quick Setup option, getting your league up and running is a snap. Once the league is setup, you can customize it as much or as little as you like. You'll invite your friends to join along, set your own rules, customize your scoring system and we'll do the rest.

Q: How can I renew the same Baseball Commissioner league I played last year?
A:  Everything is right where you left it, including all your league's important information such as: team rosters, rules and scoring system among others. Go to your Baseball Commissioner league home page and click on the link in the yellow box at the top of the page.

Q: Can your site support a Keeper league?
A: Yes. We were built to support keeper leagues. All league information is retained on the site from season to season. Use our Keeper options to decide how many players will be kept from season to season, how the owners of your league will select keepers, the date that keepers need to be determined by, and how that applies to the draft. We also include salary and contract information if your league uses those features.

Q: What types of Add/Drop functions do you support?
A:  You are the commissioner; you can choose from Waiver process, FAAB (Auction Process), Commissioner approval, or by allowing all owners to make add/drops on their own.

Q: What are E-Reports?
A:  You can schedule e-mail delivery of all the reports in your Fantasy league. When the reports arrive in your inbox, we refer to them as E-Reports. This includes statistics and standings reports, as well as news updates about your players and more.

Q: Will I have access to the latest MLB news and injury reports?
A:  Absolutely. We post player news as it happens along with strategic analysis to help team owners make the right lineup decisions. Also a list of all current MLB injuries and playing status is right on your league's site. Plus we have a full editorial schedule, with Fantasy articles and analysis from our experts throughout every week.

Q: Is Live Scoring Included?
A: Yes. Our lightning fast live scoring is included for every owner of the league.

Q: What other features can I expect to find in my league?
A: You can find a list of standard league features by clicking here.
